Knowledge harvesting could be a rigorous, results-driven method for capturing and transferring very important scientific, engineering, technical and business insights and complicated psychological feature processes.

In order for knowledge harvesting to be considered as being successful in the know-how the organisation should do the following:
1. Come up with new products or innovations
2. They should make predictions and actively respond to critical operational issues.
3. Predict customer purchasing behavior, determine weaknesses of product/ service offerings and identify new innovations that meet customer needs
4. Monitor external environment and translate issues into action – look at competition, economic trends, political and regulatory issues, technology innovations, social and cultural changes.

It goes without saying that an organisation knowledge harvesting contributes to the organisation through training and improving the knowledge of employees which incorporates their organisational process.
